A counsellor, artist, and proponent of social justice, I work to promote human well-
being. I enjoy exploring diverse perspectives, finding common ground, and seeing
the bigger picture. My approach is collaborative, client-centred, and eclectic,
drawing on cognitive, somatic, and creative approaches to therapy. I offer LGBTQ+ competent individual counselling and kink- and poly-friendly relationship counselling for all unique configurations.
Operating from within an anti-oppression and social-justice framework, I hope to walk alongside you on your journey for a time. Offering inquisitive exploration and holding space for what emerges, I strive to provide a contained, supportive, and structured environment. Within this context, we can investigate the thoughts, feelings, and sensations that arise.
I am trained in AFOT (Aboriginal Focusing-Oriented Therapy, a somatic approach to complex trauma) through the Justice Institute of BC. I also hold a Level 1 certification in Gottman Method Couples Counselling from Best Marriages, and Level 1 and 2 Narrative Therapy Certifications from Yaletown Family Therapy. I draw on Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, as well as expressive arts and sand tray techniques in my work.
Areas of interest include:
- Individual counselling
- Relationship counselling
- Queer, trans, poly, and kink-friendly counselling
I regularly schedule appointments on Thursday evenings from 5pm-9pm, and on Tuesdays from 10am-2pm. Alternate days and times may be possible. Telephone or online counselling may also be possible.
Please provide a minimum of 48 hours notice when cancelling an appointment.
Full session= 50min, Extended session=80min
$120/full, $150/extended; Multi-person $160/full, $190/extended
Sliding Scale (limited availability)
$60-$120/full, $90-$150/extended; Multi-person: $100-$160/full, $130-$190/extended
Clients often find an extended session to be the most suitable time frame for relational or multi-person work. Full sessions are usually ideal for individual counselling.
In recognition of systemic limitations to mental health coverage, I do my best to offer reduced-rate sessions to those who would not otherwise be able to access services. I acknowledge the importance of every person being empowered to select a counsellor that they identify as a “good fit,” who has competency in areas clinically-relevant to the their self-identified needs, and who is accessible for a length of time that accommodates the their unique rate of change and desired outcomes. This is not always possible when public or private health insurance fails to provide adequate access to counselling services.
I am able to offer a limited number of spaces to those in financial need. Please let me know when you are booking your first appointment if you are in financial need and seeking this discount. Your rate may be re-evaluated to account for changes in your financial circumstances.
My regular rates are informed by BCACC guidelines and common peer practices.
