Listening to people with curiosity and attentiveness has always been central to my way of
Becoming a parent strengthened and deepened this inclination: my children taught me the
value of being present, still, and waiting to see what would be offered to the space I held
open. Counsellor training expanded my knowledge of societal systems, and taught me the art
of asking good questions. With continued self-reflection and in a spirit of collaboration, I walk
alongside people facing diverse and interlocking challenges.
I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space in which clients can reflect upon their own
strengths, challenges, barriers and ways of healing. My role is then to reflect back to clients
their own internal wisdom. I bring to this a knowledge of human experience, systems of
oppression (both external and internalized), and justice oriented healing strategies. At a more
personal level, I would like the experience of "love" to be or become present in all of our lives.
My areas of focus are:
Depression and anxiety
Loss and grief
Traditional and non-traditional intimate and familial relationships, including non-monogamous,
polyamorous, and queer/LGBTQ
Navigating life transitions
Exploration of gender identities
Trauma and intimate partner violence
Ageing and eldership
I am trained in collaborative person-centered and strength-based approaches including
solution-focused, narrative, anti-oppressive, trauma-informed and response-based modalities.
I offer counselling in English and French. The full fee for individuals is $120 per 50-minute
session. For couples an 80-minute session is preferable and costs $180. I offer sliding scale
fees starting at $40 for persons facing financial barriers. As I am a Registered Clinical
Counsellor, most extended health plans provide full or partial coverage.
