Alejandra Zibes, M.A. RCC

Alejandra is a bilingual (English/Spanish) Registered Clinical Counsellor. She has been working in the mental health field for over ten years, and has a particular interest in providing counselling services to people who have been impacted by traumatic experiences. In 2018, Alejandra obtained a certificate in Trauma Sensitive Yoga, and in 2019 she completed the training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

In addition to her formal education, Alejandra has experience working in the public school system supporting immigrant/refugee students and families, providing counselling services to clients in non-profit agencies and private practice, and being an instructor/supervisor to Master’s level counselling students.

Alejandra provides a safe, compassionate and non-judgmental environment in which clients openly explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours and work through their challenges. Her counselling modality is non-directive, holistic, and trauma informed.

Alejandra believes that we are inherently resourceful and we can find our own path in life by trusting and acknowledging our inner resources. As we are all impacted by themes prevalent in the dominant culture, she assists clients in becoming aware of the systemic barriers that may interfere with their overall state of well-being.
