Approach
As a queer person who grew up in a Polish refugee family, I have a keen interest in how identity, culture, and systemic forces shape our emotional lives.
“There is something wrong with me” is a phrase I hear often. I’m here to let you know: there is nothing wrong with you.
I offer individual counselling in a space that is collaborative, consent-based, trauma-informed, and non-judgmental. Clients often describe my style as warm, relational, and attuned, with room for playfulness and humour when it feels supportive. Laughter can be an important part of healing.
My approach is integrative and informed by six years of mental health work. My work is strongly grounded in Emotionally Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), with additional influence from Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Narrative Therapy (NT). I also draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) when helpful to support insight, values-based action, coping, and practical change. I work relationally and with the body, inviting emotional and embodied awareness as part of the therapeutic process.
As a queer person who grew up in a Polish refugee family, I hold a deep interest in how identity, culture, attachment, and systemic forces shape emotional experience. I bring a feminist lens to my work and aim to create a space where clients feel safe to explore vulnerability, emotion, and connection.
Outside the therapy room, I enjoy cooking, comedy shows, writing, over-researching e-bikes, and reflecting on how to live in alignment with my values—sometimes while eating cake in bed. I’m deeply committed to cultivating warmth, humour, and meaningful connection in my work with clients.
